Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between
anthro.pometry and bodytype endomorph, mesomoroph and ectomorph with factors
the of aerobic fitness, speed and power. The sample induded 37 untrained male,
students from Tehran University (aged 19-25 years) drvided to three groups, each
group representing specific somatotypes, 13 endo, 12 meso, 12 ectomorph.
Somatotype was measured through Sheldon and Heath-Carter anthropometric
somatotype method. Physical tests include: 60 meter dash; vertical jump; board
jump; medicinball throw; step test. Data analysis was performed by partial
correlation cofficients. The results significantly demonstrated the positive relation
between ectomorph component and aerobic fitness (r=0.57; P<0.05 = 0.45).
The relation between body fat, body weight and aerobic fitness was negative
(r=0.72;r=0.62 respectively P<0.05 = 0.27).
The negative relation between body weight and foot and hand power was
obtained (r=0.35;r=0.35; P<0.05 = 0.27).
The negative relation skinfold fat with foot power and general speed was
obtained (r=0.65; and r=0.53 respectively P<0.05 = 0.27).

The positive relation between girth arm and hand power was obtaineel
(r=O.49; P<0.05 = 0.27).
