The purpose of this study was to compare cardiovascular risk factors in active and nonactive aged men. The present study examined the effects of physical exercise and training on cardiovascular risk factors in aged men.
For this purpose, forty aged men in two groups (20 active men with average age of 70.5, 20 nonactive men with average age of 70.4) were selected voluntarily from Tehran MELLA T park They came to the park for physical activity and spending their leisure time.
To detect the amount of serum lipid and lipoprotein, 10cc of their venous blood, 48 hours after last physical activity (when they were fasting), was taken. The variables examined were. TG, VPDL, LDL, HDL, TC.
Data analysis computed with SPSS versoin 10, T-Test in independent groups and 5% level of probability (a = 0.05) were used in this research. The results indicated that levels of TG, VLDL, LDL, TC, in the active group were significantly lower than those in nonactive group, but the level of HDL in the active group was significantly higher than the nonactive group.
