Abstract

To study the effects of shat-term aerobic training on endurance performance and the role of air polution in rats, 20 rats were studied in two groups. The rats in
group one were placed in non-polluted room and the rats in groups. two were placed in an another room that poluted by a running motor<-1'cle concentration 8. Co, s02
and Hydrocarbon in the polluted measured at 42, 0/38 and 61 ppm, respectively.
Each groups was trained on a motor-driven treadmill 2 times perday, 6 days
per week for 8 weeks.
The parameters under study were: endurance capacity after & weeks of
training in the two environment and comparison between final endurance test in two
rooms. This study revealed that endurance capacity increased in both groups
(p<0/001): Also, when endurance test was carry out in the Polluted room the polluted lower time in comparison with non-polluted room was found (P<0/028),
but no significant change was revealed in the final endurance test, when the test was done in the polluted room.
There fore this study revealed that aerobic training even in the short-term, increases endurance capacity in rats and air pollution cannot confused this effect.
