To examine the relationship between perfectionism and sport achievement in a sample of athletes, 74 students (44 males, 30 females) from Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Tehran, participanted in this study. All participants were asked to complete Farsi version of Positive and Negative perfectionism Scale (FPANPS). To measure the sport achievement, athletes’ coaches were asked to rate Sport Achevement Scale (SAS). Analysis of the data involved both descriptive and inferential statistics including means, standard deviations, analysis of variance, Pearson’s correlation, and regression analysis. A simple positive and negative correlation was found between positive and negative perfectionism and sport achievement respectively. However, positive perfectinism was the only significant predicting factor for changes in sport achievement. Positive perfectionism is supposed to increase the level of sport achievement via characteristics such as realistic thinking, acceptance of personal limitations, flexibility, self-satisfaction, enhancement of self-esteem, self-confidence, as well as positive perception of social supports and evaluations.

The subjects, age, weight and height were respectively 44.63± 3.52 yrs, 76.63± 7.41 kg and 170±5.04 cm. Subjects completed Baecke physical activity questionnaire and we measured weight, height, abdominal and hip circumference. Also, we measured skin fold in chest, abdomen and thigh to determine BF%. Finally we determined coronary heart disease risk factors such as SBP, DBP, TJ, LDL-c, HDL-c, TG, TC/HDL and WHR. We used pearson correlation analysis to analyze data at minimal level of significance (‘P

The research was to study and compare the effects of cardiovascular fitness on physiological stress. The method was an expost facto method. Forty faculty members in Yazd University (30-50 years old) participated and randomly based were divided in two groups on Daily Energy Expenditure. active and inactive. Using Shuttle Run test, cardiovascular fitness in participants was tested. The same participants were tested by filling physioloyical stress questionnaire. The probable correlations of variables were determined by regression analysis and Multivariable Variance (Manova). The physiological and anthropometrical variables, stress level and daily energy expenditures were compared by a nonparametric test (Mann - Witney U) P

The purpose of this research was to compare the spine in secondary school male ancifemal students in Mashhad. The subjects were 316 boys and 300 girls (12-15 years old) collected randomily. Data were collected by questionnaires and physical examination. Information in questionnaires included personal characteristics, medical history, habitual activity (sitting, sleeping, ...). Subjects, overall spinal posture were height and weight examined using posture screen and New York test standardization. A pilot study was also performed. Data were analyzed by the nonparametric statistical chi square test.
The results were as follows. Abnormal posture in male students was 79.5%, in female 81.66% and generally 97.15 % in all subjects. Torticollis, raise shoulder, scoliosis, lordosis and abdomen protruding in female students are higher than those in tehn male students but kyphosis, forward head and asymmetrical hips in male students are higher than female students. * The highest amount of abnormality is kyphosis in boys (39.24%) and raise shoulder in girls (42/67%). The lowest amount of abnormality is scoliosis in both boys (4/75%) and girls (5.67%). There was a significant difference betweem position of shoulder and kyphosis (P? 0.01). There was also a significant difference between posterior and lateral observe in spine posture in the society (P? 0.01).
There was a significant relationship between body type and spine posture in the society (P? 0.01). The comparison of abnormality in male and female students showed that the level and rate of abnormality in female students is higher than in male students. Considering poor movement, limited and special state of body in female students showed, that a special program by managers is necessary.

The aim of this study is to describe sport facilities in universities of Medical Sciences from the view point of managers of Physical education . All of the Physical Education offices and intramural facilities were included in this research. The measurement device was a questionnaire consisting of 15 open and closed questions given to the intramural physical education directors. To check the validity , the questionnaire was examined by 25 new experienced lecturers in Physical Education departments. Furthermore, descriptive statitics were used to ananlyze the collected data, to determine their standard deviation, frequency and cumulative percentages. We can pave the way to achieve intramurla sport objectives (Promotion of health status, skills achievement, social relations and efficient use of leisure time and recreational activities) when we improve the underlying structures in students’ sports. In addition, it is necessary to set up organizations for university students’ recreational and sport purposes in each university to achieve the above mentioned goals.
